Náplň práce
Following limited supervision and utilizing in depth technical knowledge of software, electronics or networking principles and problem analysis concepts; provides second level technical support to Symbol Level I associates, customers and partners.
KEY OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES:
- Maintains a high degree of technical competence and expertise on the scanning, wireless networking and mobile computing families of products, in the area of design, functionality, technical specifications and support.
- Provides Level II direct phone support to customers, partners and Symbol Associates on all product lines.
- Provides second level support to Tier One support representatives by fielding questions and providing technical direction on support issues, product compatibility, and customer configurations.
- Provides technical training for tier one support personnel and ongoing mentoring.
- Facilitates Support Problem Reports (SPR) to the Engineering Department maintaining communications with Engineering and the customer until resolution.
- Reviews and approves Knowledge content for use by internal support staff and external support channels.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with Product Engineering and Product Management.
- Ensures proper software/hardware diagnostics tools are available and all technical associates utilize test procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Požadujeme
- BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field or work experience in computer technology.
- 2 or more years experience in computer systems and at least two or more years of direct customer support.
- Knowledge in any of the following 3 areas:
1) Portable Device technologies including programming with Visual Studio with .NET and C/C++, Java, SQL, TCP/IP; developing innovative IT solutions for Palm OS, Windows Mobile 2003/2005/CE .NET PDA devices; configure devices by remapping keypads, registry keys, DLL’s, API’s.
2) Laser/Scanning technologies including RS-232, Keyboard Wedge, Wand Emulation, Scanner Emulation, USB, RF and Synapse.
3) Networking TCP/IP, Cisco router/switch infrastructure, Network security, Network trace analysis, VOIP, 802.11 IEEE standards, WLAN topologies, GPRS
- English a must and 1 of the following languages: Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, French, Russian or Polish is an advantage
- Must have excellent communications skills; oral, written, and listening, strong problems solving skills and be able to interact effectively with customers in troubleshooting problems over the phone.
